Since 1981, we have been perfecting our craft and are now able to accomplish beyond the standard capabilities of the printed wiring industry. Our special capabilities can be utilized to fit your specific project needs, saving you time, lowering your costs, and providing the highest performance pwb technology for your end-use application.


Pioneer Circuits has the capabilities to manufacture high layer count printed circuit boards beyond the standard six layer pcbs that are considered multilayer in the industry today. 6 layer pcbs and even high layer counts are becoming more common, but it is the ability to create multilayer boards with sub laminates that makes Pioneer Circuits unique. For more complex rigid flex configurations, many lamination processes are needed. Typically in the pcb industry, rigid flex wiring boards can have up to 5 sub laminates. Pioneer Circuits has the capability to manufacture multilayer rigid flex wiring boards with over 40 layers and 8 sub laminates.

Pioneer Circuits’ extended length flex presents great design possibilities to our customers. When designing a larger project, engineers often run into the problem of having to connect multiple pwbs and connecting them together through different means such as bulky ribbon cables. Rather than having many wiring boards, cables and connectors that are all potential points of failures, Pioneer Circuit’s extended length flex replaces all of these components with a sleek and time saving solution that eliminates human errors in assembly and provides enough reliability for the harshest environments. Pioneer Circuits has produced extended length flex circuits that are up to 35 feet, and we have the capability to go beyond this to fit your needs.

Larger boards in the pcb industry typically range up to 22’ x 34’. At Pioneer Circuits, we have the ability to manufacture panels as large as 80” in length through our autoclave lamination. Oversize boards open many design opportunities for engineers to accomplish more with their projects. At Pioneer Circuits, you are not bound by the limitations of what a manufacturer can do – we customize our procedures to fit your specific needs.

Bookbinders are often the best or only way to achieve a tight bend radius with multiple flex layers. Pioneer Circuits’ long experience in the industry, along with our unique tooling and equipment modifications, have given us the ability to fabricate bookbinder designs without substantial costs or yield differences. Bookbinders are becoming more and more common in the printed wiring industry, but Pioneer Circuits specializes in the ability to create book binders with a much higher amount of flex layers. By staggering the length of each flex layer, we are able to greatly reduce the compression and tension forces that are introduced with flex layers are bent into its final configuration. Pioneer Circuits’ experienced staff in pre-production engineering calculates the appropriate staggers based on the customer’s final installed configuration.

Constantan is a nickel-copper-alloy with thermo-characteristics that can be used in place of copper for applications such as infrared imaging. Pioneer Circuits has extensive experience with manufacturing pcbs with constantan, which is not typically utilized throughout the industry, because of its difficulty to be manufactured with. Our experience has led us to further constantan-related capabilities including Adhesiveless constantan laminates and controlled resistance via copper micro plating.

Microvias, Blind Vias, and Buried Vias, the capabilities to drill specific type of holes, are becoming more and more common in today’s advanced rigid PWB manufacturing technologies. Pioneer Circuits has extensive experience in fabricating rigid-flex PWB’s with features such as laser drilled microvias, sequential laminations, filled vias, via-in-pad and other advanced construction technologies.


Pioneer Circuits utilizes both Acrylic Adhesives and Adhesiveless Materials as bonding materials. Acrylic adhesives are commonly used during all-flex constructions because the material remains flexible after curing. However, because acrylic adhesives may lead to plated through-hole failures, low peel strength, resistance to rework and laminate voids, we understand the importance of using Adhesiveless Materials whenever possible.

Potting and Conformal coating are standard ways of protecting your printed circuit board assemblies from the harsh environments that your end-use-application may be exposed to. Pioneer Circuits has experience with creating PWB’s for applications to be used in military and aerospace environments, and understand the importance of high quality potting and conformal coating.


Although rigid flex designs present unique challenges to achieving impedance matching requirements, Pioneer Circuits’ engineers are well versed in the theoretical and practical applications of controlled impedance and can assist with impedance modeling, materials selection and test data.
