Bookbinders are a type of rigid-flex printed circuit board designed to help accommodate tight spaces, with the need to bend and fold in a full 180-degree manner.
The individual layers are stacked on top of each other, but they are not bonded together. The staggered flex lengths allows the layers to slide past each other when the bookbinder flexible circuit is bent.
