RIGID-FLEX CIRCUIT BOARDS




Rigid flex circuit boards consist of both flex and rigid PCB’s, as the name suggests. They deliver the stability of a rigid wiring board along with the flexibility of a flex wiring board. Because of the rigid flex boards’ enhanced performance, improved reliability, and maximized weight and space savings, they are typically used in Military, Aerospace and Medical end-use applications.

Pioneer Circuits is the worldwide leader in fabricating flex and rigid flex wiring boards. With years of experience behind our products, we have developed specialized processes to be able to create complex rigid flex boards that other printed circuit companies do not have the capabilities to accomplish.



HIGH LAYER COUNT
Pioneer Circuits has the capability to produce printed wiring boards with over 40 layers and up to 8 sub-laminate layers which can be extremely complex to manufacture and is more than any other company in the industry.


LARGE PANEL RIGID-FLEX
Our large panel rigid-flex boards make longer profiles possible to meet our customers engineering and design needs. Pioneer Circuits has the capability to manufacture large panel rigid-flex boards with profiles of over 80 inches.


BOOKBINDER TECHNOLOGY
Staggered flex lengths are created to accommodate the necessary bend radius. With the book binder, efficient use of space enables stress-free installation. Book binders also enable 3D form factor with high layer rigid-flex.


CONTROLLED IMPEDANCE
Printed wiring boards that require controlled impedance generally have high-end designs and need high precision during manufacturing. With Pioneer Circuits, any Controlled Impedance Model used in rigid PWBs can also be accommodated in Rigid Flex Designs.


THERMAL-MANAGEMENT
Constantan is a nickel-copper-alloy with thermo-characteristics that can be used in place of copper for applications such as infrared imaging. Pioneer Circuits has extensive experience with manufacturing pwb’s with constantan.


MICROVIAS
Microvias are used to connect layers of advanced pwb's. Pioneer Circuits has extensive experience in fabricating rigid-flex PWB's with features such as laser drilled microvias.


BLIND/BURIED VIAS
Pioneer Circuits also has the capability to drill specific types of holes such as blind and buried vias which are space-saving ways to connect pwb layers. Blind vias connect an outer and inner layers while buried vias connect inner layers, both without going all the way through.


ADHESIVELESS
"Adhesiveless" refers to flexible metal clad laminates where the metal cladding is bonded to the base dialectric with an adhesive other than acrylic. Pioneer Circuits has extensive experience manufacturing with adhesiveless materials which can greatly improve pwb reliability.
